SPRINGFIELD, Ore. –
Elliot Misic got his first career hat trick and
Kyle Han a brace to lead Northwest to a 5-0 win at Bushnell on Saturday in the Eagles' regular-season road finale for 2021.
Â
NU scored all five goals in the first half.
Â
"It was nice to play well today and get a solid win," said NU Head Coach
Gary McIntosh. "This was a good response after Friday's loss. Kyle and Elliot scored some good goals and the team shared the ball well. Good for the defense to get the shutout. We now look forward to the next three weeks at home."
Â
Han got the game-winner in the 11th minute, knocking in a rebound from
Seito Gao's shot.
Â
Han made it 2-0 in the 30th minute with an assist by Misic. Misic drove home a penalty kick for his first goal of the day 23 seconds later, making it 3-0.
Â
Misic scored on his own in the 39th minute to make it 4-0 and took a short cross from
Angel Ventura for his third goal, scoring in the 41st minute.
Â
Misic's is the first hat trick for the Eagles since Jordan Travis got one in 2019 against California-Maritime.
Â
The Eagles took 26 shots for the game. Han led with five while Misic and
Tyler Hopp added four each. Han and Misic had three shots on goal apiece with Gao, Hopp, and Ventura getting one each.
Â
Alexander Thiehofe had a pair of saves for the shutout win in goal.
Â
Now 7-4-2 overall and 3-3-2, NU returns home for a weekend set with Warner Pacific on Friday and Multnomah on Saturday. Both games begin at 12:30 p.m.
