LACEY – Northwest dipped to 0-3 Saturday after an 84-59 loss at St. Martin's in the completion of a two-game set.

Grace Hammond came off the bench to lead the Eagles with 11 points, and
Sam VanLoo scored 10.

Northwest led briefly in the first quarter, but the Eagles trailed 18-14 at the end of the quarter and 39-30 at intermission.

NU put together a solid fourth quarter, outscoring the Saints 16-15. VanLoo led a balanced final-frame attack with four points.

"This was another learning experience for us," said NU Head Coach
Ken Crawford. "It was a closer game. We just need to develop the consistency and continuity to keep it going. We've played five games so far, and we've shown improvement in some aspect of the game in each. I'm looking forward to a good week of practice and getting on the court again!"

Livi Lindsey and Andi Kristinat had eight points each, and
Maya DuChesne had a team-leading three assists. Â

Shelaine Lorenz brought down five rebounds,
Livi Lindsey came up with five steals, and VanLoo blocked two shots.

The contest Saturday was the final scheduled road game for the Eagles.

Northwest opens the home portion of its season with a pair of games against George Fox on Saturday and Sunday. NU's current schedule has the Eagles at home for eight consecutive games.
