Eagles Show Strength at Seattle

SEATTLE – Northwest surrendered a goal in the final 20 minutes of each half in a 2-0 exhibition loss at NCAA Division I Seattle University Wednesday.

"I am extremely pleased with the effort and the performance today," said NU Head Coach Bryan Chud. "We came up against a very accomplished and organized Seattle U team, and I felt like we did a good job of nullifying their threat and at times threatening them. It's nice to get the first game out of the way, and this is a performance we will build on. We're looking forward to these weekend games now, and we're excited for the season ahead."

The Eagles launched two shots on the night, both by Maya Lewis, who put one on goal.

Kierstin Patefield corralled 12 saves.

Northwest hits the road for a Friday game at College of Idaho and a Sunday contest at Eastern Oregon to begin the regular season.
