CALDWELL, Idaho – Northwest opened with a 2-0 loss at the College of Idaho Friday night.
Â
After a scoreless 74 minutes, the Yotes broke onto the scoreboard with a Brynna Herridge goal. Megan Wilkinson added a second goal in the 86th minute.
Â
"We were pretty flat tonight, but all credit to C of I as they played an intense and complete match," said NU Head Coach
Bryan Chud. "It's always difficult to come here, and we struggled to cope with the pace of the game, perhaps coming off the back of the SU game Wednesday and just the general lack of match fitness. We are thankful for these preseason games, though, as they are all part of the process, and we will learn from the loss and look to improve."
Â
The Eagles had four shots on the night, including two by
Maya Lewis and one apiece by
Callie Wright and
Brynn Pilkenton.
Â
Kierstin Patefield had six saves in goal for the Eagles.
Â
Northwest returns to action Sunday at 11 a.m. at Eastern Oregon.
