KIRKLAND – After one exhibition and numerous cancellations and proposed games that didn't materialize, Northwest women's soccer opens the regular season with weekend games at the College of Idaho Friday and Eastern Oregon Sunday.
Games begin at 8 p.m. (Mountain) Friday and 11 a.m. Sunday.
Northwest is 7-4-4 all time against the College of Idaho. The Yotes won in overtime, 2-1, in Caldwell last season and snapped NU's five-game unbeaten streak in the series.
Eastern Oregon leads the series against the Eagles, 8-7-2. NU has a three-game unbeaten streak working against the Mountaineers, including a 2-1 win in La Grande last season.
Returning to the Eagles are seven players who started nine or more games.

Sarah Hommas bring back a wealth of starting experience.
The College of Idaho is 0-1-1 this season and has played in three overtime periods. The Yotes lost at home to Northwest Nazarene, 2-1, and tied Idaho State, 3-3, in an exhibition. Madison Glasscock had CI's goal, getting an assist from Mackenzie Malach. Kylee Atkins made the start in goal and held NNU scoreless for her half of the game.
Eastern Oregon opened with a 1-0 home victory over Corban Monday. Morgan Farrington had the game's lone goal. Kiara Fontanilla picked up the shutout in goal, collecting three saves.
