La GRANDE, Ore. – Eastern Oregon scored a goal in each half for a 2-0 win over Northwest Sunday.
Â
It was NU third game of the week, including an exhibition at Seattle University, and all three ended with the same score.
Â
"'I'm pleased with the way we responded today," said NU Head Coach Bryan Chud. "Despite the loss, we played much better than Friday, and we are battling fatigue and injuries from three tough games in five days. Spirits are high, and the belief and quality are there. We'll rest a bit this week, and we'll be ready for Southern Oregon and conference play next week!"
Â
The Eagles out-shot their hosts 10-7, but Kiara Fontanilla turned back five NU shots on goal.
Â
Olivia Morris tested the EOU keeper four times on as many shots, while
Sarah Hommas put two of her three shots on frame.
Â
Kierstin Patefield logged three saves in goal for NU.
Â
Northwest begins Cascade Collegiate Conference games Sunday and Monday, March 7-8, with Southern Oregon. Fans are not permitted to attend NU home games.
