KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Oregon Tech improved to 10-0 with a sweep of Northwest on Saturday, winning 6-2 and 6-3.

The Eagles made significant strides after being run-ruled twice on Friday.

"We never want to lose," said NU Head Coach
Pam Fink, "but looking at this as a coach, we made some big strides today. Our players know they are better than those scores on Friday, and we progressed today. This is why preseason games are so important."

Northwest took a 1-0 lead in the opener's first inning when
Jordan Dippel and
Sammi Caron singled ahead of a sacrifice fly by
Nicola Fish.

The Owls tied the game in the third and claimed a 4-1 lead in the fourth.

Sam Parisio homered to lead off the fifth inning, but that was the end of NU's scoring in the opener.

Caron had two hits in the game.

Becca Rennick took the loss in the first game.

Northwest tied the second game at 1-1 in the fourth when Caron singled, stole second, and scored on a double by
Jessica Nunes.

OIT took a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the fourth, but the Eagles tied the game in the fifth. Caron and Fish produced RBI doubles.

Caron and Johnson had two hits each for NU, which finished with seven hits for the game.

Sydney Maurer took the pitching loss for the Eagles.

Northwest travels to No. 15 College of Idaho for four games, starting Friday.
