Eagles Come Up Short, 2-1

KIRKLAND – Northwest came up short against No. 15 Corban Monday, falling 2-1.
 
The Eagles struck first, scoring in the 14th minute when Tyler Hopp bent a pass Noah Prophet's way, and Prophet blasted the ball into the net for a 1-0 lead.
 
Matheus Giron got the first of his two goals in the 36th minute, using an assist from Charles Cleyton.
 
Giron added his game-winner in the 51st minute.
 
"We were disappointed not to get the win today, but I am pleased with the way we approached and played the game," said NU Head Coach Gary McIntosh. "We did a lot of good things today and will build off of them as we move forward."
 
The Eagles had seven shots, led by Elliot Misic and Leon Bormann with two each. Borman and Prophet had NU's two shots on goal.
 
Northwest returns to action at Bushnell for a Sunday-Monday set in Eugene, Oregon.
