BELLEVUE, Wash. – Northwest dropped the final two games of the four-game set to fifth-ranked Oregon Tech Saturday, 15-1, 11-1.
"It was a tough day for the Eagles against a very good Oregon Tech team today," said NU Head Coach
Pam Fink. "There were a few good things, but we obviously need to improve."
Northwest had two hits in the opener, both in the first inning, to tie the game 1-1.
Sammi Caron singled and eventually scored after a base hit by
Jessica Nunes.
OIT bashed out five home runs, including three by Maggie Buckholz, who finished with eight RBIs.
The Eagles scored the final run of the game in the fifth inning of the second game.
Jordan Dippel tripled and scored on an RBI ground out by
Deanna Johnson.
NU had four hits in the finale, including two by Dippel and one each by Caron and Nunes.
The Eagles return to action April 9-10 with a trip to Montana to take on Providence.
