KIRKLAND – Northwest opens the season Thursday with a trip to Seattle Pacific for a 7 p.m. contest at Interbay Stadium.

Every player who scored a goal or had an assist last spring is back for the 2021 season. The team returns three All-Conference selections in
Callie Wright,
Olivia Morris, and
Kierstin Patefield. Wright and Morris accounted for 60 percent of the team's scoring last season.

The Eagles added to the already-experienced lineup with three transfers.
Liv Lagerquist comes in from Portland State,
Claire Jo Diede from Hawaii, and
Halley Marschall from North Idaho.

Wright led the Eagles with five goals last season and shared the assists lead with
Jennifer Conner and
Maya Lewis with two each. Morris added four goals for the year.

Patefield finished last season with a 0.98 goals-against average. She had 36 saves and five shutouts among her 11 starts between the pipes for Northwest.

Seattle Pacific is coming off of an 8-0-1 season. The team returns all five of its top scorers from last season. Sophia Chilczuk led SPU with 10 goals and eight assists in eight games last season. Claire Neder had eight goals and five assists, Chloe Gelhaus added six goals and three assists, Sophie Beadle added three goals and eight assists, and Makenna Rietz contributed four goals and an assist. Riley Travis, who carried a 1.02 goals-against average last season, also returns for the Falcons.
