KIRKLAND – Northwest makes stop two in its seven-game road swing, taking on St. Martin's at 3 p.m. Sunday in Lacey.
The Eagles also play in Portland, Tacoma, LaGrande, Klamath Falls, and Ashland before the home opener against Providence on Sept. 24. NU originally was to open at home, but Evergreen State canceled that Aug. 24 contest.
NU got off to a rough start with a 5-0 loss at Seattle Pacific Thursday. SPU is ranked No. 5 in NCAA Division II and is the preseason favorite to win its conference. The Eagles had three shots and one shot on goal for the contest.
St. Martin's brings back its top scorer in Kiersten Madsen, who had five goals and an assist last season. Ali Campigotto also is back in goal for the Saints.
Picked to finish last in the GNC, St. Martin's registered a 3-0 win over Bushnell. Madsen, Rebecca Garrison, and Alia Khoyi scored one goal each. Bushnell is picked 12th in the CCC.
