LACEY – Northwest dropped to 0-2 with a 1-0 loss at St. Martin's Sunday afternoon.
Â
"For the second game in a row, we started the match looking nervous and shaky, and the game was lost at that point," said NU Head Coach
Bryan Chud. "We did enough in the second half to deserve getting something out of the game but didn't finish the chances we created. Preseason is about trusting a process, learning as we go, and getting better every game. We will take the next few days to make the necessary adjustments and we will respond accordingly on Wednesday."
Â
The Eagles launched 13 shots, led by
Kayla Soderstrom with four and
Olivia Morris and
Anna Lau with two each. Soderstrom had two shots on goal while Morris, Lau, and
Callie Wright tested SMU keeper Ali Campigotto once each.
Â
Hannah Pylant took the loss in goal, collecting four saves.
Â
Elisabeth Cole scored the game's lone goal in the 10
th minute.
Â
Northwest returns to action Wednesday at Lewis and Clark College in Portland.
