KIRKLAND - Northwest takes on Whitman College in the second game of the season for the Eagles, kicking off at 6 p.m. on Wednesday in Walla Walla.

Whitman and the Eagles have met six times, with the Eagles owning a 2-1-3 record in the series. Whitman won the last outing, 2-1, in Kirkland in 2018. Northwest got the better of Whitman in its last trip to Walla Walla, 2-1, in double overtime in 2016.Â

In their 2-0 loss to Whitman in 2018,
Noah Prophet,
Leon Bormann, and Joey Starr had shots on goal. Prophet and two other current Eagles–
Titus Nickson and
Tyler Siedenburg–were starters for that game.
Dennis Kozorezov and
Kyler McIntosh also played.

Northwest opened the season with a 5-2 win at Whitworth on Aug. 24. The Eagles got two goals and two assists from
Elliot Misic and goals by
Seito Gao,
Ian Reynoso, and
Gian Herrera.
Frederik Marten and
Kyle Han also had assists.

Whitman opens the season Wednesday. They went 6-5-1 last season after winning its last two games. Whitman returns 95 percent of its scoring from last year, including leading scorers Edwin Romero (4 goals, 2 assists), Oscar Harding (2 goals, 4 assists), Jacob Barsher (1 goal, 5 assists), and Riley Kraft (2 goals, 2 assists). Bernie Jones, who allowed 10 goals and collected 22 saves in nine games in goal last season, also returns.
