KIRKLAND – Northwest plays its volleyball home opener Wednesday when Pacific Lutheran visits Kristi Brodin Pavilion for a 6 p.m. match.

Wednesday's match marks the first meeting between Pacific Lutheran and Northwest in volleyball. Pacific Lutheran is playing its season opener in Kirkland. The Lutes went 8-4 last season, finishing with a five-match winning streak. PLU has won its last 11 season openers.

Abi Broussard leads Northwest with 3.77 kills per set, and
Jill Botsford is at 2.55. The Eagles average nine kills per set. Broussard is 28th in the NAIA with that average.

Anna Saelens comes into Wednesday's match with 101 assists this season, averaging 8.42 of Northwest's 8.69 assists per game. Saelens is 30th in the NAIA.

Pacific Lutheran finished the spring at 8-4. Lauren Wilson (2.90 kills per set), Sianna Iverson (2.48), McKenzie Pfeiffer (2.33), and Baylee Johnson (2.33) all return after leading the team in kills last season. Also back are assists leader Emily Dulaney (8.98 assists per game), aces and digs leader Halle Hetzler, and blocks leader Breeze Bartle.
