TACOMA – Northwest dropped a 1-0 decision at Puget Sound Friday night in a contest plagued by NU injuries.
Â
Puget Sound scored on a header by Radhika Shultz in the 47th minute.
Â
"Today we were able to give a lot of minutes to a lot of new players with several making their collegiate debuts, and I was very proud of the effort put forth by everyone," said NU Head Coach
Bryan Chud. "Unfortunately, the game itself was overshadowed by three potentially serious injuries, so our thoughts and prayers are with them right now."
Â
The Eagles had four shots, testing the Puget Sound keeper each time.
Anna Lau,
Callie Wright,
Gracie VanAssche, and
Kendall Mickelson had one shot on goal apiece.
Â
Kierstin Patefield played 81 minutes in relief of
Hannah Pylant and had seven saves.
Â
Now 1-3-1, the Eagles travel to La Grande, Oregon, to take on 17th-ranked Westmont Saturday at 4 p.m.
