KIRKLAND – Northwest and Rocky Mountain played to a 1-1 tie in Cascade Collegiate Conference women's soccer Saturday.

The Bears scored first on a goal by Taira Duford in the 36th minute, and that 1-0 lead lasted the rest of the half.

NU got its lone goal in the 49th minute.
Claire Jo Diede pressured the Bears on their end, took the ball away, and passed to
Kayla Soderstrom. Soderstrom launched a great cross to
Callie Wright, who punched the ball in for the equalizer.

"We played really well today and felt we definitely deserved the three points (that come with a win)," said NU Head Coach
Bryan Chud. "Overall, I am pleased with the performance and excited to push on next week as we face Carroll."

NU had 19 shots and put nine shots on goal.
Callie Wright had six shots and four shots on goal. Soderstrom added five shots. Also testing the RMC keeper were
Elizabeth Moretti,
Maya Lewis, Soderstrom,
Olivia Morris, and Diede.

Kierstin Patefield had nine saves for the Eagles.

Now 3-5-2 overall and 2-1-1 in the CCC, the Eagles play at Carroll Friday afternoon.
