KIRKLAND – Northwest hits the trail to Montana and eastern Washington this weekend with games Friday at Carroll College (noon Pacific) and Sunday at Walla Walla (1 p.m.).
The Eagles are coming off of a four-overtime weekend in which they scored a 1-0 win over Providence and a 1-1 tie against Rocky Mountain.
Elliot Misic had the game-winning penalty kick against the Argos and the equalizer in the RMC contest.
With the last win, Head Coach
Gary McIntosh gained his 150
th win at NU and 200
th career victory.
Misic leads the Eagles with his eight goals this season. He needs two goals to become the seventh player to reach double figures in goals in a season. He is fifth all-time at NU with 20 goals.
With 44 saves,
Alexander Thiehofe is second in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. He is fifth all-time at Northwest with 140. He also is fourth with seven career shutouts. He has a 1.76 goals against average this season.
The Eagles are 1-4-0 against Carroll and all but one of those games was determined by one goal. Northwest's one win in the series came in Helena in 2017. Carroll won the last meeting, also in Helena, in 2019, 2-1. Carroll has a two-game win streak in the series.
Carroll is 2-4 overall and 2-2 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference after a 2-0 win over Multnomah and a 4-3 loss to Warner Pacific on the road last weekend. Rory Bloy and Santiago Morazzani lead the Saints with four goals and one assist each for nine points. Kaden Connor has spent all 495 minutes in goal for Carroll and has 27 saves and a 1.82 goals against average.
Northwest is 13-0 all-time against Walla Walla. So far, none of the games have been close and the Eagles' average win in College Place has been 5-0.5.
Walla Walla stands at 0-5-1 overall and 0-4 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference after getting pummeled last weekend in Portland, 8-2 against Warner Pacific and 5-1 against Multnomah. Pedro Reyes leads the Wolves with two goals and an assist for five points.
