KIRKLAND – Northwest has a rare Saturday off this weekend after its Friday contest at Carroll College at 2 p.m. Pacific time.
Northwest is 5-4-1 in the all-time series with the Saints. The Eagles have won the last two meetings, including a 4-2 victory in Helena in 2019 – the last meeting.
It's a big game Friday with the Eagles trying to move to the upper half of the playoff landscape. Carroll is third at 3-1 and NU fifth with seven points at 2-1-1.
Northwest is 3-5-2 overall and 2-1-1 in the conference after playing to a 1-1 draw with Rocky Mountain in Kirkland on Saturday.
In NU's 4-2 win at Carroll in 2019,
Callie Wright had two goals and Madi Morrow had a pair of assists. Makayla Welch had both goals for Carroll.
Claire Jo Diede leads the Eagles with eight points this season with two goals to go with four assists.
Callie Wright has six points,
Kayla Soderstrom has five, and Gracie VanAsshce owns four.
Wright, VanAssche and Diede share the team lead with two goals apiece.
Kierstin Patefield leads the Eagles with 35 saves and carries a 1.39 goals allowed average. She has three shutouts this season.
Offensively, the Saints are led by Blair Stapleton with five goals Katie Martin with four assists. Both players have 10 points this season. Sarah Conway has a 1.32 goals allowed average and 23 saves on the season.
