Northwest Hosts Pacific Saturday at 2 PM

KIRKLAND – Northwest tries to get back above .500 when they host Pacific University at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
 
The Eagles are 2-2 all time against the Boxers. Pacific won in overtime at home in 2016, 1-0. Northwest won by that same score the last time the teams met in Kirkland in 2014.
 
Pacific won its opener on Sunday, defeating Walla Walla, 2-0. The Boxers also played Cascade Collegiate Conference member Multnomah Thursday night. Pacific plays six games against the CCC before opening its conference season.
 
Pacific's win in 2016 came courtesy of a penalty kick in the 103rd minute. 
 
Northwest comes off of a 4-0 loss at Whitman Wednesday. The Eagles had one shot on goal by Brayden Corwin. Alex Thiehofe had five saves.
 
Thiehofe is 44th nationally with 11 saves this season. He leads the Cascade Collegiate Conference with 5.5 saves per game. 
 
Elliot Misic, through two games, is second in the Cascade Collegiate Conference in goals (2), goals per game (1), assists (2), assists per game (1), points (6), and points per game (3).
 
Pacific, in its season-opening win, got goals from Brodie Buchert and Sam Altman. Alex Passman had an assist. The Boxers outshot Walla Walla 12-2. PU keepers Luis Rojas-Celis and Zach Adertino had a quiet game in goal.
