KIRKLAND – College of Idaho improved to 10-1 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference with a 75-57 win over Northwest on Saturday.
Â
The Eagles struggled to find an offensive rhythm and shot 37 percent from the field for the night, while CI muscled up inside and ripped down 16 offensive rebounds for 16 second-chance points.
Â
"Obviously, the College of Idaho is the class of the league," said NU Head Coach Jeff Drinwkine. "They've been running the same system for years and they're good at it and good at recruiting kids who can succeed in it. Hats off to them for taking us out of our offense. We had a good game plan going in. Some things didn't go our way and we got nervous. That's our youth. But I'm proud of the effort we gave this weekend. I saw a lot of growth in a lot of players, and it is good to see them enjoying competing together. We just can't be satisfied with a weekend split."
Â
CaCoa Chatman led the Eagles with 13 points, followed by
Connor Drinkwine with 12 and
Tanner Davis with 10.
Carson Sparks had eight points and nine rebounds.
Rayvaughn Bolton paced the Eagles with six assists.
Â
Ricardo Time scored 17 points for the Yotes.
Â
Now 7-9 overall and 4-7 in the league, Northwest hosts Walla Walla at 2 p.m. on Friday.
