KIRKLAND – Northwest worked hard after going down by two goals, but the Eagles came up just short, 2-1, falling to Carroll on Saturday.

Robin Erickson scored with an assist from Jack Bentson to give Carroll a 1-0 lead in the 41st minute.

Birgir Gauti Stefansson used a feed from Rory Bloy to put the Saints ahead 2-0 in the 62nd minute.

The Eagles battled back to make it 2-1 in the 69th minute on a
Tyler Hopp goal, using an assist from
Elliot Misic.

"We beat ourselves today," said NU Head Coach Gary McIntosh. "We created numerous opportunities to score and just could not get it done. Hopefully, this week of practice will do us some good."

The Eagles were outshot 18-8. Misic led the Eagles with four shots and had the only other shot on goal.

Alexander Thiehofe had seven saves for NU, while Mathias Graveson had two for the Saints.

Now 4-5-2 overall and 2-3-1 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference, the Eagles are home for the final time next weekend, hosting Bushnell on Friday and Corban on Saturday. Both games are 3 p.m. starts.
