KIRKLAND – Northwest begins its five-game road swing to finish the regular season this weekend with a trip to Portland to take on Multnomah at 11 a.m. on Friday and Warner Pacific at noon on Saturday.
 
The Eagles are 10-0-2 on the season and 6-0-1 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference after defeating Corban 2-1 on Saturday. Kayla Soderstrom and Anna Lau had goals for the Eagles with assists from Claire Jo Diede and Grace Burke. 
 
Freshman goalkeeper Hanne Breur leads the NAIA and the Cascade Collegiate Conference with nine shutouts this season. She also leads the CCC and is fifth in the NAIA in both save percentage at .935 and goals-against average at 0.25.
 
Through 12 games, Northwest has outscored opponents 32-3. Elizabeth Moretti leads NU with five goals. Claire Jo Diede has four, and Sarah Hansen, Anna Lau, Maya Lewis, and Gracie VanAssche have three each. Grace Burke, Liv Lagerquist, Colette Liston, Rachel Russell, and Kayla Soderstrom have two each. Trinity Mischel has one.
 
Soderstrom leads the Eagles and the Cascade Collegiate Conference with nine assists this season, the third-best season total in NU history behind Olivia Morris (11 in 2019) and Jaclyn Metz (11 in 2018). Morris is the career assist leader at NU with 17. Soderstrom has 15 career assists.
 
The Eagles are 3-0 all time against Multnomah, including a 4-0 win in Kirkland last season. NU topped the Lions 7-0 in Portland in 2019. 
 
Multnomah is 2-8 overall and 1-5 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference following a 1-0 loss at Warner Pacific on Friday. Nanea Moke-Rabang leads the Lions with two goals.
 
Warner Pacific hosts Evergreen on Friday and comes into the weekend at 5-6-1 overall and 2-4 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. The Knights are coming off a 1-0 win against Multnomah. Kaitlin Hirasa leads WPU with four goals. Maddie Goss has four assists.
 
Northwest has a 14-3-1 edge in the Warner Pacific series. The Eagles handed the Knights a 5-0 loss in Kirkland last season. Northwest played two games at Warner Pacific in 2020, picking up 2-0 and 5-0 wins. Northwest has won the last five contests in the series.
