Multnomah Falls to Eagles, 4-1

PORTLAND – Gracie VanAssche scored two goals and tied two shooting records in Northwest's 4-1 win at Multnomah on Friday.

VanAssche tied the single-game records with 10 shots and seven shots on goal. VanAssche is the fourth Eagle to hit double figures in shots, joining Callie Wright twice (2020 and 2021), Olivia Morris in 2021, and Claire Jo Diede in 2021. Morris and VanAssche now share the shots on goal record.

VanAssche had two goals in the game, getting the Eagles on the board in the 12th minute with an assist from Liv Lagerquist.

Esveldy Fabila scored with an assist from Nataly Serrano in the 26th minute, bringing MU even on the scoreboard. The game remained tied until the Eagles posted three second-half goals.

Elizabeth Moretti scored with an assist from Halley Marschall for the game winner in the 70th minute. It is Moretti's fourth game winner of the season, tying her for the fourth-most game-winning goals in a season.

VanAssche scored in the 76th minute for a 3-1 lead, using the first of two assists by Sarah Hansen. Anna Lau capped the scoring in the 86th minute.

"We weren't at our best for much of the game today, but we fought hard and were deserving of the victory in the end," said NU Head Coach Bryan Chud.

The Eagles finished with 26 shots. Following VanAssche with four was Soderstrom. Maya Lewis added three.

VanAssche had seven of NU's 21 shots on goal. Lewis and Colette Liston had three each, Lau and Soderstrom had two each, and Morris, Marschall, Moretti, and Trinity Mischel had one apiece.

Hanne Breur had two saves for NU.

Now 11-0-2 overall and 7-0-1 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference, NU stays in Portland to take on Warner Pacific on Saturday at noon.
