Warner Pac Blanks Eagles in Portland

PORTLAND – Northwest dropped a 3-0 decision at Warner Pacific to wrap up its trip to Portland this season.

Freshman phenom Andrew Martinez gave the Knights a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute and WPU led 2-0 after an Alain Murhula goal in the 21st minute. Kai Flugel scored in the 67th minute for the final score.

"Today we just did not have the legs and personnel to get the job done," said NU Head Coach Gary McIntosh. "Give credit to Warner Pacific; they are a national caliber team and deserved the win."

The Eagles had three shots with Brayden Corwin, Max Loza and Max Herrig taking one each. Herrig and Loza had NU's shots on goal.

The loss drops Northwest to 6-7-2 overall and 4-5-1 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference.

The Eagles travel to Olympia to play Evergreen State at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22.
