KIRKLAND – Northwest closes out the regular season this weekend with a road trip to the College of Idaho at 5:30 p.m. on Friday and Eastern Oregon at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Northwest heads out on the trip in ninth place in the Cascade Collegiate Conference standings, and eight teams go on to the postseason. They are two points behind Eastern Oregon and Evergreen State, and one or both of those teams will score standings points on Friday when they play each other. A win or tie against the College of Idaho on Friday will go a long way to allowing the Eagles to control their destiny on Saturday.Â

Northwest is 6-8-2 overall and 4-6-1 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference after a 3-2 loss at Evergreen State on Saturday.

Max Herrig had goals for the Eagles in that contest.Â

Ten Northwest players have found the back of the net this season, led by
Tyler Hopp with six goals. Misic has five goals, and Herrig has four.Â

Northwest has 25 assists this season with 15 Eagles setting up the goals.

The College of Idaho beat Walla Walla 5-1 on Sunday to improve to 10-4-1 overall and 8-3 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. The Yotes are 4-1-1 at home. Eric Hornung leads the team with 13 goals and 27 points. Caio Pereira has a team-leading five assists. Tom Baynard-Smith carries a 1.20 goals-against average into the contest.

Northwest is 13-9 in the College of Idaho rivalry, including a 1-0 win in Kirkland last season. NU also won on their last trip to Caldwell, 2-1, in 2020. The Eagles have a three-game winning streak in the series.Â

Gian Herrera scored the lone goal in the 27th minute with an assist from Prophet.

Eastern Oregon heads into its Friday game with Evergreen State at 8-7-1 overall and 5-6 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. The Mounties are coming off of a 4-0 win at Carroll and are 5-4 at home. Max Rose leads EOU with five goals and 11 points. Edgar Perez has two goals and a team-leading three assists. Dalton Mauzay has a 1.17 goals-against average.Â

NU is 2-3-2 all time against Eastern Oregon. The Eagles won 1-0 in overtime in Kirkland last season. The Mountaineers won in La Grande in 2020, 2-0.
