Eagles Fall at College of Idaho

CALDWELL, Idaho – Northwest came up empty on the first leg of its final road trip, falling 4-0 at College of Idaho on Friday.

The Yotes took an early 1-0 lead on a Caio Pereira goal in the ninth minute and that score lasted the rest of the first half.

CI scored two quick goals in the 63rd and 66th minutes by Ben Garrick and Jorge Fernandez, respectively. Zach Flannery got the final goal in the 85th minute.

Despite the loss, the Eagles have one more shot to qualify for the Cascade Collegiate Conference Tournament when they play at Eastern Oregon on Saturday. A win puts NU into the postseason while a loss or tie would end the season for the Eagles.

"We played a good first half but our own mistakes continue to plague us," said NU Head Coach Gary McIntosh. "We need to focus now on tomorrow's game."

Northwest had 12 shots in the game with Elliot Misic, Ryota Uchikoshi and Noah Prophet launching two each.  Gian Herrera, Jacob Moon, Misic, Tyler Hopp, Uchikoshi and Prophet each had a shot on goal.

The final regular season game begins at 6:30 p.m. in La Grande on Saturday.
