KIRKLAND – Northwest allowed a goal at home for the first time this season but matched a season high with seven of their own for a 7-1 win over Bushnell on Friday.
 
Karla Cardinal made the most of a one-on-one opportunity to give Bushnell a 1-0 lead in the 32nd minute.
 
Northwest answered quickly and often, with 
Rachel Russell getting the equalizer in the 35th minute, using a double assist from 
Maya Lewis and 
Elizabeth Moretti.
 
Sarah Hansen got the game winner with three seconds left in the half, getting an assist from 
Kayla Soderstrom.
 
Gracie VanAssche made it 3-1 in the 52nd minute, playing home a pass from Moretti, and Moretti got a goal of her own in the 58th minute with a second assist from Cascade Collegiate Conference assist leader Soderstrom. 
 
Anna Lau weaved through the defense and got a one-on-one goal in the 61st minute.
 
Colette Liston made it 6-1 with a goal in the 68th minute, using an assist from Russell.
 
Hansen got her second goal of the day in the 75th minute, with the assist going to 
Trinity Mischel. 
 
"We didn't start well today, and we were disappointed to concede, but I was pleased with the response and the way we took our goals after going behind," said NU Head Coach 
Bryan Chud. "It was nice for Sarah to a grab a brace on senior weekend as well, and now we'll turn our attention to Corban."
 
Northwest has 29 shots on the game, with VanAssche leading 14 Eagle shooters with six. VanAssche had four shots on goal. Mischel and 
McKenna Ramoso also had shots on goal.
 
Hanne Breur had three saves in the game.
 
The win keeps the Eagles atop the CCC standings at 5-0-1 and improved the NU overall mark to 9-0-2.
 
Northwest plays its last home game of the season on Saturday, hosting Corban at 12:30 p.m. Senior Day festivities take place after the game.
