KIRKLAND – Northwest closed out the home portion of its season with an important 2-1 win over Corban on Saturday.

The Eagles improved to 10-0-2 overall and 6-0-1 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference while handing Corban (3-1-3) its first conference loss.

Kayla Soderstrom put the Eagles on top 1-0 in the 33
rd minute, playing home a cross from
Claire Jo Diede.Â

Alysia Alvarado tied the game with 44 seconds left in the first half, scoring with an assist from Moe Sato.

Anna Lau got the game winner in the 68
th minute, burying a goal with an assist from
Grace Burke.

"We came up against a tough opponent in Corban today, and I felt like we dealt with the challenge well," said NU Head Coach
Bryan Chud. "We fought hard, held the ball for much of the game, and took our goals well. It was especially sweet to get the victory for the seniors who have been so good for us not only this year but also across the span of their careers. It was a nice way to close out our home games, and we'll look to take the same success we've had at home on the road with us now."

NU outshot the Warriors 13-7, with Diede taking five shots and leading the team with two shots on goal.
Olivia Morris and
Halley Marschall also had shots on goal.

Hanne Breur had a pair of saves for Northwest.Â

The Eagles honored five players in their last home game, as well as
Jennifer Conner, who sat out this season.

Maya Lewis, and Diede played their final home game.

Northwest starts a five-game road swing next weekend in Portland, facing Multnomah on Friday and Warner Pacific on Saturday.
