KIRKLAND – Northwest played a tough game against a nemesis but lost to Providence, 68-55, to finish the Northwest Classic on Saturday.
Providence won for the sixth time in a row but by the slimmest margin in the rivalry's six-game existence.
"Disappointing but a learning opportunity for us early in the season," said NU Head Coach
Ken Crawford. "Providence is a great program with a great pedigree. We were inconsistent. We need to continue to grow and get better."
Kyrin Baklund and Kylie Lunday led the Eagles with 13 points each. Baklund and Maya DuChesne had four assists apiece.
Grace Harder led the rebounding effort with seven and Katie Fleming picked up a pair of steals.
The 2-2 Eagles take the Thanksgiving week off before hosting their first Cascade Collegiate Conference games on Dec. 2-3 with Lewis-Clark State and Walla Walla visiting.
