CALDWELL, Idaho – Northwest kept hope alive with a 3-0 win over the College of Idaho on Friday, 25-21, 25-23, 26-24.

The Eagles need a win over top-ranked Eastern Oregon and wins by Bushnell over Lewis-Clark State and Warner Pacific over Oregon Tech to have a shot at the postseason.

"Even though Idaho has been hit hard by injuries, we knew that they would challenge us in every rally," said NU Head Coach Steven Bain. "It was really tough to get them out of system, but overall, our ladies stuck with the plan and were able to earn the win. As well, when sets two and three were on the line, we stepped up and made the plays."

The Eagles never trailed in the first set and used a 5-1 run to add some padding for an 8-3 lead.
Abigail Broussard had two kills in the run.
Karste Wright ended the set with a kill.

NU found itself down 5-1 and 11-6 in the second set before rolling off seven consecutive points, including a block and a kill by
Delaney Sparks.

The Yotes fired back later with a 6-0 run to take a 22-21 lead.
Anna Saelens and
Kylie Lunday got a block to end that rally, but CI took a 23-22 lead.

Susana Bailey got a kill and then teamed with Lunday for a block to deliver a 24-23 lead before Lunday put the Eagles up two sets to none with a kill.

The Yotes had a 24-23 lead in the third set, but Saelens got a kill. The Eagles took the match on back-to-back CI attack errors.

Broussard led the Eagles with 16 kills and a .500 attack percentage, with
Kaitlyn Mickle adding nine kills. Saelens had 32 assists. Broussard had three aces.

Kelsey Moore picked up 17 digs to lead the defense, while Lunday, Broussard, and Bailey roughed up the CI attack up front. Lunday was in on five blocks and Broussard and Bailey on four apiece.

The Eagles improved to 15-14 overall and 11-10 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. They play at EOU at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
