Eagles Wrap Up Texas Trip

ALLEN, Texas – Northwest wrapped up its five-game trip to Texas with an 11-2 loss at the hands of Baker on Sunday.

Baker used six NU errors and five hits to score six unearned runs.

The Wildcats scored four runs in the first inning off of a grand slam after two errors.

NU made it 4-1 in the bottom of the first when Madisyn Leffle doubled and scored on an RBI single by Kayla Stanley.

Northwest scored again in the fifth when Leffle singled and scored on a double by Emily Barry.

"We obviously have a lot to work on defensively," said NU Head Coach Pam Fink. "We're glad we got the chance to get five games in this weekend. That experience gets us closer to being the team we can be. I'm proud of how we competed. We're excited about the possibility of getting a couple players back before the next trip."

The Eagles had six hits, out-hitting Baker 6-5. Leffle, Stanley, and Barry had two hits each.

Bella King absorbed the loss despite two strikeouts over two innings.

The Eagles, 2-3, play next at top-ranked Oregon Tech Feb. 25-26.
