KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – After dropping a 9-1 decision in game one, Northwest pushed top-ranked Oregon Tech to extra innings before falling 6-4 in the second game.

"I'm proud of how they battled through that second game," said NU Head Coach
Pam Fink. "We know we can play with anybody. Bella (King) did a really good job in the circle in the second game and Becca (Rennick) did a good job against their top hitters. We got a lot of big hits in the second game."

After a scoreless first inning, Oregon Tech jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second inning. The Eagles cut the lead to 3-1 in the third inning when
Emily Barry singled,
Alyssa Maldonado walked and
Jordan Dippel ripped an RBI double.

The Owls added four runs in the third and two in the fourth.

NU had four hits in the game with Barry getting two and Dippel and
Jessica Nunes getting one each.

Oregon Tech scored two unearned runs in a three-run first inning and that score stood until the sixth.

Barry led off the sixth with a triple and scored on an RBI single by
Nicola Fish.
Kayla Stanley followed with a two-run home run to tie the game.

After a scoreless seventh, the Eagles took a 4-3 lead in the top of the eighth. Barry singled and moved up a base on a wild pitch before scoring on an RBI base hit by Maldonado.

Oregon Tech scored three runs in the home half of the inning, including a walk-off home run by Lexi Klum.

The Eagles out-hit the hosts, 9-8. Barry, Stanley and Nunes had two hits each with Maldonado, Fish and
Ashley Carter picking up one each.

King took the loss, allowing four earned runs over 7.1 innings.

Now 2-5 overall and 0-2 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference, the Eagles square off with OIT in an 11 a.m. doubleheader on Saturday to finish the series.
