James Joins NU Volleyball

KIRKLAND – Northwest recently added Spokane Falls transfer Caitlyn James to the 2022 roster.

James, a 5-2 libero, comes to NU as a junior after captaining the SFCC squad for two seasons. She was selected to the Walla Walla Invite All-Tournament team and received the 2021 Coach's Award.

James received SPSL honorable mention at Kentwood High School and played club volleyball for Lake Tapps VBC.

"With the departure of Cristina (Lorenz), we needed to identify a back-row defender that would add experience and depth and be able to compete immediately for playing time. Caitlyn, who transferred from Spokane Falls CC at the semester, is clearly that player, as her presence on the spring roster has had an immediate impact on our program," said NU Head Coach Steve Bain. "Her impact on the court is matched by her growth mindset and willingness to make changes, and I know that her teammates love her positive attitude and the competitive fire that she brings to our preparation."

Recruited by The Master's, Rocky Mountain, and Whitworth, James said she selected NU because "I felt God called me to be here."

The daughter of Nicole and Brent Woodbury, Caitlyn attends Life Center in Spokane and volunteers with Second Harvest.
