KIRKLAND – Northwest sends 15 track and field athletes to this weekend's Cascade Collegiate Conference Championships in Ashland, Oregon.Â

Hosted by Southern Oregon, the two-day meet begins on Friday.
Â
Seven Eagle men are heading to the meet, with
Corban Phillips set to have the busiest day. Phillips is entered in the 400 hurdles, the 3000 steeplechase, and the 4x400 relay along with
Noah Phillips,
Micah Murphy, and
Jack Kopatich. Kopatich also runs the 800, Murphy the 1500, and
Noah Phillips the 3000 steeple.Â

Dawson Andrews and
Craig Lambert are in the 10K, and
Kacey Koehn is the lone men's field eventer, throwing the javelin.

Eight Northwest women are heading to SOU, with
Elizabeth Behnke registered in three events. Behnke runs the 100 and 200 meters and joins
Kaylea Hartman,
Ellie Calquhoun, and
Grace Gerardi for the 4x400 relay.Â

Gerardi also is in the 800 and Calquhoun the 3000 steeplechase with
Samantha Goedde.
Anya Bohuta runs the 400 hurdles.Â

The Eagles have two field events with
Gretchen Stottlemyre in the javelin and
Felicia Franco in the shot put.

NU has four NAIA qualifiers after Murphy hit a B standard last week in the 5000. Calquhoun made the cut in the steeplechase two weeks ago. Northwest picked up two automatic national qualifiers in the marathon last month, with Andrews (1:11:26) and
Cameron Nielsen (1:12:24) making the cut at the Everett Half. Andrews broke the school record in the half marathon.

Murphy, Calquhoun, Andrews, and Nielsen, along with any new qualifiers from this weekend, run in the NAIA Championships May 25-27 in Gulf Shores, Alabama.Â
