KIRKLAND – Northwest continues its season-opening road show with a trip to Forest Grove, Oregon, on Sunday for a 3 p.m. contest at Pacific University. NU plays its first five games away from home before starting the Cascade Collegiate Conference season at home on Sept. 16.

NU is 3-2 all time against Pacific, including a 2-1 Northwest win in Kirkland last season. The Eagles lost the last meeting in Forest Grove in overtime, 1-0, back in 2016. The Eagles got goals last season against Pacific from
Elliot Misic and
Ian Reynoso.
Jonathan Toscano and
Brayden Corwin had assists. Brodie Buchert had the lone goal for the Boxers.

Northwest is off to a 1-1 start with a 1-0 loss to Concordia (Nebraska) and a 1-0 win over No. 25 Northwestern (Iowa) last weekend in Salem. Freshman goalkeeper
Michael Kot allowed one goal in 163 minutes for the Eagles.
Tyler Hopp had the one goal for Northwest, and
Elliot Misic picked up an assist.Â

After three exhibitions, Pacific opens the season on Friday against Evergreen State before hosting the Eagles on Sunday. The Boxers were 6-11-2 last season, including a 5-1 mark against members of the Cascade Collegiate Conference. The lone loss was to NU in Kirkland. The team returns Cooper Sheakley, who led the Boxers with 13 points on six goals and an assist last season. Zachary Adertino returns in goal after allowing 1.75 goals per game last season.Â
