NU Shutout Streak Continues in Billings

BILLINGS, Mont – Northwest scored late and picked up its seventh shutout of the season with a 1-0 win at Rocky Mountain Friday in Cascade Collegiate Conference women's soccer action.

Trinity Mischel chipped a pass into the box for Elizabeth Moretti, who took a touch and buried a shot past the RMC keeper in the 79th minute.

Hanne Breur faced two RMC shots on goal for two saves. It is the freshman's NAIA-leading seventh shutout of the season.

"We dealt with some difficult conditions today with the wind and the travel, but we did a good job of buckling down and Liz scored a great goal to get us the win," said NU Head Coach Bryan Chud. "RMC is always a hard place to come to, and overall, we're happy with the performance and result."

All five shots by the Eagles were on goal. Claire Jo Diede had two shots on goal and Moretti, Gracie VanAssche and Kayla Soderstrom had one apiece.

Now 6-0-2 overall and 2-0-1 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference, the Eagles stay in Montana to play Providence in Great Falls on Saturday.
