Eagles Blank Walla Walla, 6-0

KIRKLAND – All-Conference forward Elliot Misic got his first two goals of the season as Northwest posted a 6-0 win over Walla Walla on Friday.

Misic finished the game with two goals and an assist, while Noah Prophet and Gian Herrera had a goal and an assist apiece. Brayden Corwin and Jack Eberl also found the back of the net.

Prophet scored in the 12th minute, using a nice pass from Jacen Stein for the game winner.

Misic scored in the 16th minute after Gian Herrera collected a carom off a penalty kick save and fed Misic to his left.

Misic scored again in the 32nd minute, playing home a cross from Tyler Hopp.

That 3-0 score carried the Eagles into halftime.

In the 53rd minute, Misic passed forward, past the defense, and Herrera ran down the ball for a one-on-one goal for the 4-0 lead.

Corwin got his goal for a 5-0 lead in the 65th minute, using a feed from Prophet.

In the 70th minute, Eberl buried a header off of a finely placed corner kick by Kyler McIntosh.

"It's always good to get the win, as wins in the conference are hard to come by," said NU Head Coach Gary McIntosh. "It's nice to see four different guys get goals today. The defense did a solid job getting the shut out. It's time now to focus on tomorrow's game."

Alexander Thiehofe needed just one save for the shutout win. The Eagles had 33 shots in the contest against four for Walla Walla, with no Wolves shots in the second half.

Diego Molina had a dozen saves for the Wolves.

Misic led the Eagles with six shots, while Prophet and Herrera added four apiece. Misic put five of his six shots on frame. Herrera had three shots on goal, and Corwin and Hopp had two each. In addition to Prophet and Eberl, Daniel Amador, Stein, Ryota Uchikoshi, and McIntosh had one shot on goal apiece.

The Eagles, now 4-4-2 overall and 2-2-1 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference, host Carroll College on Saturday at 3 p.m.
