Lone Goal Secures Eagle Win: 1-0

KIRKLAND, WA - A lone goal for the Northwest University women's soccer team did the job for the Eagles today as they faced the University of Providence securing the win, 1-0.

Colette Liston had the single goal of the match in the sixth minute of play, assisted by Gracie VanAssche.

Despite the lack of a second goal, action continued on the pitch. The Eagles went on to shoot 29 times, with 14 shots being on target.

Gracie VanAssche had three shots on goal, followed by Colette Liston, Elizabeth Moretti, and Halley Marschall each with two.

All five of the Argos shots on goal were saved by RiaJo Schwartz, who earned the win for NU in goal.

Head Coach April VanAssche says, "We are happy to get the win today and keep moving forward towards our season goals. Tomorrow will be a big game for us and I know the team will use todays game to fuel the fire."

The fire will be needed as NU hosts Carroll College tomorrow at 3 pm, who will be arriving with a 7-1-2 conference record and second place standing. The Eagles will also use this time to honor their 11 seniors.
