Senior Day Slips from Eagles: 1-5

KIRKLAND, WA - The Northwest University men's soccer team celebrated its seven seniors before its home match Saturday afternoon against Carroll College. The men exerted a high level of competitiveness from beginning to end but fell to the Saints, 1-5.

The Saints scored in the 23rd minute of play, the only goal of the first half.

Second half goals for Carroll were scored in the 67th, 72nd, 79th, and 85th minutes of play, extending their lead to 5-0.

Jacob Moon recorded a header for the Eagles in the 86th minute off of a crossed ball from Angel Ventura.

The Eagles set themselves up well with seven shots on target but struggled to fully complete the plays with goals.

Head Coach Gary McIntosh says, "Not the way we wanted to send our seniors off today, but it has been an amazing honor to coach the seniors over the course of their careers. We have a great group of seniors that are superb leaders dedicated to the program and have given me everything I've ever asked of them. I'm so proud of what they've done over their careers. The season is not over. We have two games left, and we have a week to get ready for our last games. We have one last final push to make the playoffs."

The Eagles will travel next weekend starting with Oregon Tech on October 29, in Klamath Falls, OR.

The seniors recognized Saturday afternoon are Alexander Thiehofe, Brayden Corwin, Jacen Stein, Jack Eberl, Jacob Moon, Seito Gao, and Tyler Hopp.

Thank you to our seniors for the way you have exemplified the culture of the men's soccer program and of Northwest University athletics.
