Game Recap: Men's Soccer | | Maya DuChesne

Eagles Catch Fire in Eugene: 3-0

EUGENE, OR - The Northwest University men's soccer team found its fire this afternoon in Eugene, shutting out Bushnell University, 3-0.

Three separate Eagles buried the ball in the net in for the victorious team effort. Angel Ventura put NU on the scoreboard after connecting with Tyler Hopp in the 20th minute.

Tyler Hopp followed with a goal of his own in the 25th minute. 

As the Beacons remained scoreless, Seito Gao extended the gap with a pass from Justin Villegas in the 81st minute.

In goal, Alexander Thiehofe earned his third shutout of the season with four saves.  

Head Coach Gary McIntosh says, "We finally played the way we wanted to. We did a good job executing the game plan and got a lot of good minutes from everyone. It's always great to get to a shutout. Our defense did a great job and Alex came up with some big saves. Angel did a great job on getting us the lead and we never looked back. Now, we will turn our focus to the long trip to Montana."

The men head to Billings, MT, next Friday to face Rocky Mountain College at 1 pm.
