SALEM, OR - The Northwest University men's soccer team ends its two-game scoring drought today but comes up short against the Warriors of Corban University, 2-4.
The Eagles outshot the Warriors, 22-15. Tyler Hopp led with four shots on goal, followed by Corbin Herrera with three and Jacen Stein with two.Â
The Warriors scored their first two in the 13th and 31st minutes. The second half opened up with two more Corban goals, almost immediately, in the 47th and 49th minute.
Corbin Herrera had both NU goals. The first was in the 63rd minute with no assist, and the second was in the 73rd minute, assisted by Jacen Stein.
Head Coach Gary McIntosh says, "We continue to start games poorly, and we are not learning from our mistakes. We play again tomorrow, and hopefully we can get things going in the right direction."
The Eagles match up against Bushnell tomorrow in Eugene, OR, at 4:30 pm.
