Game Recap: Women's Soccer | | Maya DuChesne

NU Falls to Corban: 1-2

SALEM, OR - The Northwest University women's soccer winning streak came to end today as they fell to the Corban University Warriors, 1-2.

All three of the match's goals were scored in the second half. Corban took the lead at 1-0 in the 49th minute and extended it in the 59th. Gracie VanAssche put the Eagles within reaching distance in the 79th minute, but NU could not come up with a tying goal.

Tonight's game was not the way we were hoping to start this weekend's games," says Head Coach April VanAssche. "We came out a little short on composure and had a hard time connecting overall. I know the team as a whole is disappointed in tonights outcome, but we will use it as fuel going into tomorrow's game and learn the lessons that we can from tonight's loss. I am confident that this team is still growing and working to be the best team that we can be.

Team finals include 15 shots for the Eagles, nine being on target. VanAssche totaled eight shots, three on goal. Laura Rice was next with 2 shots on goal.

Ella Wilson had nine saves in goal.

The Eagles take the pitch again tomorrow night at 7pm in Eugene, OR, against the Bushnell Beacons.
