EUGENE, OR - The Northwest University women's soccer team held Bushnell to zero goals for the night, escaping with a 1-0 victory to split the weekend.
The Eagles had offensive control with 10 shots on goal to the Beacons' six. A scoreless first half prompted the Eagles to take charge. Laura Rice fed Colette Liston a ball in the 60th minute that led to the first and only goal of the game.Â
RiaJo Schwartz gets the win in goal with six saves and a shutout.
"This team came out working together on both ends of the ball," says Head Coach April VanAssche. "I am proud of how they persevered and played with more discipline and as a team. Our second half today is one of the best 45 minutes they have played so far. They played with heart and fire, which paid off with a win."
Next up, the Eagles travel to Billings, MT, to face Rocky Mountain College on October 13, at 4 pm.Â
