Box Score SPRINGFIELD, OR - The Northwest University women's soccer team finishes second in the CCC Tounrment after a shootout loss to The College of Idaho.
The Yotes were on the board first after a goal in the 32nd minute of play.
Talia Hurst connected with Laura Rice who scored the game tying goal in the 77th minute.
Both teams went scoreless to end out regulations, as well as in both 10 minute overtimes.Â
The Eagles came up short, not able to find the back of the net in their first shootout of the season. The College of Idaho walked away with the conference title, after winning the shootout 2-0.Â
NU had nine total shots compared to the Yotes' 26. Gracie VanAssche and Laura Rice each totaled two shots on goal.Â
Head Coach April VanAssche says, "Very proud of how this team came together at half time tonight and really stepped up in a lot of ways to go out and play our game for the next 45 minutes plus 20 minutes in overtime! It always hurts to lose in penalty kicks after leaving everything you have on the field in regular play. However, we are very grateful for the opportunity to continue on to nationals, and we are looking forward to continuing our momentum as a team."
