"I'm so thankful this team is getting the opportunity to move on to the semi-finals," says Head Coach April VanAssche. "What a fun way to get to win with the pressure of overtime! This was a great opportunity for us to dig deep tonight, and find out just how resilient we are as a team! They fought hard on both sides of the ball, we did a lot of little things tonight that really added up and there was a lot of sacrifice going on from both our offense and our defense to make sure that we were doing whatever we could to give ourselves a chance to win this game. Headed into the second overtime, we briefly had a chance to talk about just taking shots and seeing what happens. They took that to heart and we got a goal in the first minute setting us up to do what we needed to close out and get the win."
VanAssche led the Eagles with four shots on goal out of the team's seven. Anna Lau, Liv Lagerquist, and Rachel Russell each record one.
Schwartz receives the win in goal with four saves.
