COLLEGE PLACE, WA - The Eagles faced a determined Walla Walla team that ultimately got the best of them, 63-79.
Northwest and Walla Walla traded shots during the first half. The Wolves got out ahead in the beginning and did not give up the lead for the remainder of the game. NU tied the game three times, but shooting trouble plagued the Eagles.
While
Luke Howard led the Eagles with 21 points, and
Lewis Pope brought home a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, the Eagles only shot 26.2% for the game.
"We have to find a way to get better shots. You can't shoot under 30% from the floor and win," said NU Head Coach Rick Skeen. "The guys are working hard to fix it. I know we will get there, but it is a struggle right now."
The Eagles head home to host The Evergreen State College at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, December 8.
