KIRKLAND, WA - The Eagles struggled to find the basket as the undefeated Owls took advantage and won 65-39.
Â
Northwest had a slow start in the first quarter, which allowed Oregon Tech to outscore the Eagles 19-7.Â
Â
The Eagles were able to match OIT's energy in the second quarter and cut the lead to eleven going into half. The Owls came out from the half looking only to stretch their lead. Northwest's bench helped the Eagles fight to stay in the game by scoring 23 of the 39 points. Ultimately, Oregon Tech showed why they are undefeated by not letting the Eagles get within striking distance.
Â
Kylie Lunday led the Eagles with 14 points and six rebounds.Â
Â
"Disappointing loss tonight," said NU Head Coach
Ken Crawford. "We just have to keep plugging away and keep getting better. We get the opportunity to do it right away tomorrow night against a good Southern Oregon team. We know what we need to do; now we just need to do it."Â
