TACOMA, WA - The Eagles came back from Christmas break to match up against the Lutes in Tacoma for an exhibition. An even game that came down to the end tipped in PLU's favor, edging out NU, 57-54.
Northwest put in a team effort on Friday evening to face the Division III PLU Lutes. Teams traded points back and forth all night, with each team holding the lead 12 times. The Eagles' largest lead came in the third quarter when they were up by seven, but they could not hang on to it until the end.Â
Alli VanKooten led the Eagles with 11 points, while
Maya DuChesne tallied nine.
Kylie Lunday also brought in nine points while securing 13 rebounds.Â
"Tough loss on the road with an improved PLU team," said NU Head Coach
Ken Crawford. "We had our opportunities but did not take advantage of them. Good thing is that we get to play again right away. Hope to see lots of folks out at 3 PM on Saturday afternoon versus Linfield!"
The Eagles host Linfield University tomorrow for the final non-conference game of the season at 3 p.m.
