PORTLAND – Northwest routed Multnomah 72-55 on Friday with three Eagles scoring in double figures.
Kylee Lunday imposed her will on the Lions, scoring 25 points while gathering 12 rebounds.
Maya DuChesne hit three three-pointers on her way to 15 points, and
Morgan Marshall added 13 points.
The Eagles methodically built their lead starting midway through the second quarter and held a 36-26 lead at the half.
NU's lead peaked at 56-33 with 2:50 remaining in the third quarter on a
Grace Harder basket. The Lions got no closer than 12 points in the fourth quarter.
"Great team win tonight," said NU Head Coach
Ken Crawford. "We were able to get into a good rhythm and maintain it for the full 40 minutes. Multnomah played hard, so it was a great experience for us to be able to handle their pressure. Looking forward to another opportunity tomorrow night against Warner Pacific."
NU carried a 47-32 rebounding advantage.
Katie Fleming added seven rebounds and five assists for the Eagles.
The Eagles finish their Portland trip Saturday with a 3 p.m. game at Warner Pacific.
