PORTLAND – Northwest kept its playoff hopes alive on Saturday with a 58-45 win over Warner Pacific.
Â
"Two strong games this weekend," said NU Head Coach
Ken Crawford. "Fun to watch, fun to play and fun to coach. We are playing good basketball at the right time!"
Â
Northwest did it with a strong defense. The Eagles got 18 steals in the game with
Maya DuChesne getting six and
Katie Fleming four.
Â
Kylie Lunday led the Eagles with 18 points and seven rebounds while DuChesne scored 17 and Fleming added 11.
Â
Northwest got it done in the first half, establishing a 34-19 halftime lead.
Â
The win has the Eagles even in the standings with Evergreen State with two games to play. The Geoducks have the tiebreaker in the series so NU will need to win at least one of their remaining game.
Â
NU hosts College of Idaho and Eastern Oregon next weekend.
